All healthy churches, committed to the corporate and individual Christian growth of their members, recognise the importance of meeting regularly in small groups. A Sunday service is a wonderful place to worship God together with others in the church family, and to hear the Bible read and preached. But it is not always possible, in the context of a church service, to ask questions, discuss the issues that have been raised, share one’s personal needs, or to be prayed for.
The first Christians met in the Temple for corporate worship, as we do in church, but we are told in the Bible that they also met regularly in their homes, to worship, learn, share their needs, and to pray (Acts 2:42-47).
At St Peter’s, there is a range of small groups that meet at different times and for different reasons. You are welcome to join one of these groups – please contact Rev Stephen Hills who will be pleased to talk with you, and recommend a suitable group.
