Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults

St. Peter’s Church takes seriously its safeguarding responsibilities. We follow the church of England’s national guidelines and the House of Bishops safeguarding policy “promoting a safer church”. Please visit the Diocese of Rochester’s website to access more information on national policies and safeguarding

If you have concerns over the safety and/or welfare of a member of the church then please contact our safeguarding officer:

If you would rather speak to someone outside of the Parish you can approach the Diocesan Safeguarding advisor:

If you are worried about a child or young person (under 18 years) and the information you have suggests that a child is at immediate risk of being harmed, you should tell the police without delay. This is an emergency and it is appropriate therefore to use the police emergency number 999.

St. Peter’s Church is committed to implementing the House of Bishops’ safeguarding policies and good practice guidance –

A formal statement to adopt the House of Bishops’ “Promoting a Safer Church; safeguarding policy statement” was agreed by the Parochial Church Council and recorded in the minutes of the meeting on 9th June 2019

Alpha Course

Want to know more about the meaning of life.  Why not try the Alpha Course.

The Alpha Course is a course designed to present the fundamentals of the Christian faith in a relaxing atmosphere in which you can consider the facts and weigh the evidence. The course will last over a number of weeks and each will start with a meal. You won’t be expected to know or have read the Bible; you certainly won’t be preached-to, expected to sing, pray, or do anything except relax, listen and ask questions – yes, even the tough ones!

Please contact us if you would like to join the next course or with any other queries. Look online for further details.
